Main Character: Jasper Rabbit

Plot: Jasper finds a magical, purple, crayon. It is useful at first, when Jasper would rather do other things besides learn. The crayon seems to know it all. However, Jasper decides the crayon needs to go when it begins to take over. Jasper needs to learn how to do things for himself. How will Jasper get rid of the creepy crayon?

Settings: Jasper's home and school

Genre/Theme/Style: Children's Humor, Animal Books, Independence, & Halloween

I Gave This Book 4 Roars! 🦁🦁🦁🦁

Why 4 Roars? This book is very similar to the other books in the Creepy Tales! Series. I like the fact that Jasper learns the importance of learning for oneself in the story. A great trait for young readers to admire.

Critical Analysis: The story line is simple enough for young readers to follow, and just creepy enough to feel spooky, but not cause genuine fear or dread. A good choice for Halloween without unwanted concerns.
